THE FIRST INAUGURATION OF BEREAN FELLOWSHIP IN THE YEAR 2022

THE FIRST INAUGURATION OF BEREAN FELLOWSHIP IN THE YEAR 2022
Akpuoga Nike Town, Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu State of Nigeria was the ground that birthed a new chapter of BEREAN FELLOWSHIP INTERNATIONAL. It happened on March 3rd 2022.
The temperature was very high yet it offered them no discouragement but proof of determination as they defied the heat and came in good numbers. They kept to time which is Berean trait. The zeal displayed was exhilarating. They sat still under the canopies gulping every word of counsel from the Oracle delivered by Rev. Simon Onwubiko Berean African Regional Director for the inaugural speech.
The spate of wonder mood expressed on their faces tells of the shock reality they were exposed to by the message titled
“WARNING AGAINST IDOLATRY.”
He made them know that Berean by the name is come to make them “Dare to be different.” Seeing that his text of Matt.13:58 reveal why Jesus did not do many mighty works is some places. “He did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.” NIV
From this text he gave proof of why God’s miraculous power is demonstrated in one local assembly and not the other.
Above all in Israel the general trend of denial or absence of divine power upon God’s people was as a result of their involvement in idolatry. A great sin and evil as it is called. The early church saw the raw power of God amongst them but today alas the modern church is gone Laodicea. And even explain away the miraculous by claiming the cessation of and withdrawal of such acts of God by the completion of the New Testament cannon. The argument is so weak as it lacks clear scripture support. Which attests to the falling away by involvement in idolatry making God withdrawal his supernatural displays. Bereans should do well to come away and return to the Lord as he persuades us in Hosea the prophet to see him alive in our midst again. The adoption of pagan feasts and practices and converting them into divine worship is obnoxious. It is idolatry and forbidden by God clearly in Deut.12:31 You must not worship the LORD your God in their ways.
These modern idols include Easter, Christmas, Sports, Entertainment, Halloween, Valentine, Lent etc which is grievous to the Lord. His deity and lordship is challenged by these things and in living up to Himself spares doom for offenders. Every book of the Bible speaks on it. God proclaimed it foremost at Sinai in the Decalogue. The apostles reiterated it in the First Church Council in Jerusalem. In a lifetime one cannot exhaust the message against idolatry.
It forces us to acknowledge that if one can avoid idolatry he will not commit other sins too.
You have heard it all he said and bade them Farewell, good bye like the apostles is Act 15:29. Till we meet again.
This he admonished the assembly and we closed in prayer and afterwards called out the people who shall be serving in various capacities in the fellowship and Pastor Job Ohuka prayed a dedication prayer for them. Committing them to the able hands of the Lord in His vineyard.
After sharing the grace, we were treated to a refreshment by the young fellowship and it was grand.
The Lord bless our mother chapter of Berean Fellowship International, Bay Springs, Mississippi. Our leader and President Prof. Chinyere Onwubiko and board members and sponsors.
Bless also all the various chapters that came from Aba, Abia State , Akpoha, Ebonyi State, Emene, Enugu State and all others in Christs name, amen.
