OPENING OF NEW BEREAN CHAPTER IN NKPORO OHAFIA LGA
BEREAN CHAPTER OPENING IN AMURE, NKPORO, OHAFIA LGA, ABIA STATE OF NIGERIA
It was an eventful day on 15th March 2021 that the bulk of Berean Ministries International, Africa, Nigeria capital in Aba all moved to Amurie in Nkporo to launch a new chapter and the second one in Ohafia L G A , in Abia State. I arrived at the Venue from Ogbu Edda, Afikpo South LGA Ebonyi State in good time 10:35 am to master the environment. An hour later the African Director came in and so followed entire team in the huge bus of nigh 50 passengers. Workers from Arochukwu and Isuikwuato and Item centres also came. It was a full house.
The people we came for were there even before I arrived and by 12:00 noon we had a large house despite the fact that it was a market day in Nkporo. They remained in prayers and praises till formally Pastor Prince Berean State Coordinator took the centre stage. After opening prayers and welcoming everyone Pastor Adolphus Elem lead in Songs and praises the Berean way. Testimonies we’re taken in respect of Divine blessings accruing from Berean Ministrations via Prof. Chinyere Onwubiko. Afterwards, Pastor Prince introduced the African Director Rev. Simon Onwubiko to deliver the Divine Oracle for the opening ceremony.
By every standard he came up with expository talk on the topic titled PERSEVERE IN THE FAITH with Act. 14:21-22 as basic text He revealed that there is a paradigm shift in the faith worldwide tantamount to apostasy. Stated clearly that on Nigeria context particularly prosperity preachers have turned Christianity to godliness is gain. With disparaging observation that in the end only these prosperity preachers themselves are prospering indeed at the expense of their adherents thus becoming merchandise.
They neither preach the true gospel that offends the world causing persecution nor the life that glorifies God making men to bow in reverence and repentance. Yet the inherent truth remains that ,”We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom or rule of God.” (Act 14:22)
By so saying he like Paul and Barnabas strengthened and encouraged Nkporo believers to remain true to the faith.
Furthermore, he definitely made it clear that this faith also means trust. So he dealt with it as something we learn like the first church in Acts 2:42-47 from the Apostles teaching and fellowship. So to learn here in Berean Ministries International as a fellowship non denominational to raise true Christians ready for the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So personal Bible studies and devotion citing Josh. 1:8 is not enough for the New Testament Believer. Go the Berean Way. With many other words he strengthened the brethren in 2 two sessions of teachings.
Books were given to the new leaders and to everyone in attendance. Meanwhile the book like God’s Sovereign Plan and the other books were reprints entirely done by contribution from the African Headquarters on Aba. They are appreciating Berean Mission works with great devotion, labour’s and sacrifices. It was glorious in all.
We give special thanks to Prof. Chinyere Onwubiko and the BEREAN Ministries International sponsors for yet another outreach centre for to rescue the decaying Christianity in Nigeria. The New chapter in Nkporo tells the whole story of BEREAN love for us.
God bless you all in Christ’s name, amen.
